The White Rose
Author(s): Lillian Groag
In 1942 a group of students at the University of Munich anonymously publish and distribute leaflets that protest the atrocities of the Nazi regime. The students give themselves the name White Rose. They disseminate the anti-Nazi material throughout Germany and Austria during the summer of 1942 and the winter of 1943. The group is eventually captured and they all face execution. A police inspector takes interest in Sophie, the only female member of the group, and offers her a way to save herself. But Sophie remains loyal to the group and to her beliefs right to the end.
